PROBAT’s universal gas roasters were originally developed in the 1920s to achieve maximum flavor development and maximum yield in the cup – and this goal has not changed to this day. The rotating drum inside the UG series is equipped with special shovel blades to ensure that the coffee beans are mixed evenly during the roasting process, producing a homogeneous final product.

The ability to adjust the use of hot air using the “flavor wheel” is a feature that makes the UG series stand out – with a flick of the wrist, you can adjust the hot air flow in different directions. The roasters are still built according to the original plans, but are equipped with a state-of-the-art drive, burner, and electrical technology.

With roasting times between ten and twenty minutes, heat is applied to the coffee beans over a longer period of time, resulting in exceptional flavor development. With a maximum batch size of 25 kg and the successful combination of state-of-the-art technology with an attractive retro design, the UG series is particularly suitable for installation directly in the shop.

The UG series is equipped with thermocouples as standard to document the supply air, product, and exhaust air temperatures. The basic version is controlled manually. Alternatively, the UG series can be equipped with a semi-automatic control s via a touch panel.

Regardless of the selected control solution, the UG series safety features guarantee maximum process reliability.

The burner used in the UG series can be configured for use with natural gas or propane, depending on customer requirements, and stands out due to the following features:

The UG series roasting cyclone features a large, wheeled chaff collection container made of aluminum, making it light and easy to empty. In addition, the cyclone offers the following additional features:

  • Individually adjustable
  • Roasting fan above the cyclone enables particularly high separation efficiency

Even in the basic version, the UG series roasting fan is equipped with a frequency converter. In addition, it stands out due to its particularly high performance and can be connected to an exhaust air treatment system.
